After spending hours in this clammy gear Trent was pretty uncomfortable, especially in the harness area. He just knew there had to be a better way to protect his package from chafing.

A former baseball player, he imagined a catcher’s mitt ‘hammock’ design. After the fishing trip, he worked with clothing designers to create a panelled fabric hammock that separated his balls from his legs. Fourteen prototypes later, the BallPark Pouch™ and SAXX Underwear were ready for action.
This innovation, along with three other key features, is what makes SAXX briefs different.
Voted the “world’s best underwear” by Men’s Health Magazine, SAXX underwear is rightly seen as the saviour of men’s tackle, ensuring chafe-free support for tens of thousands of grateful chaps and endorsed by professional athletes plus celebs such as Jack Black, Jamie Oliver, Wayne Bridge and Ken Block.
Let’s have a look at those key features that combine to make SAXX briefs unique:
[] Ballpark Pouch – A 3D hammock-shaped pouch designed to keep everything in place, the BallPark Pouch prevents skin-against-skin friction and ensures chafe-free support. [] Flat Out Seams – Counter to conventional methods, seam stitching is reversed, placing the flatter and softer side against the body. [] Three-D Fit – All styles use an ergonomic nine-panel construction to create 3D support around glutes, thighs, quads and hamstrings. [] Moisture-Wicking – Each pair comes with qualities designed to combat clamminess and allow moisture to dissipate away from the skin.Core brief styles include:
SAXX Quest – A boxer brief built for road trips, red-eye flights, and treks around the world. This low-maintenance travel pair is ultra-light with a slim fit, and wash-and-go wearability.
SAXX Kinetic HD – An athletic brief built for running and high-energy sports, with 4-way stretch moisture-wicking micromesh fabric. Semi-compression fit. Features an evolved version of the BallPark Pouch which has been modified to improve fit and function.
SAXX Vibe – Designed for the guy whose sense of style runs deep, these best-selling boxer briefs come in a wide range of prints and patterns. The fabric is super-soft and breathable, and the design is a slim fit with no fly.
SAXX Volt – Bright, bold and designed to get the important things under control, Volt briefs are cut from a wicking, breathable pin-dot mesh; perfect for high-aerobic training or sport activities.
For Spring 2021, SAXX is targeting warm-weather comfort with its new DropTemp™ cooling fabric. DropTemp is a proprietary fabric construction using patented Coolcore technology; essentially it amplifies your body’s natural cooling capacity as the fibres pull moisture from the skin surface and move it through to the garment exterior where it evaporates. What’s unique, and exclusive to SAXX, is that the fibre cross-section and structure provides a higher surface area and therefore more efficient moisture transport.
DropTemp launch garments for Spring/Summer 2021 are the Hot Shot Boxer Brief and Hot Shot Tech Tee. Both feature strategically placed mesh panels for increased airflow in ‘heat zones’, plus chafe-free Flat Out Seams for friction-free comfort.
This January, SAXX UK has also teamed up with Blacks Outdoors to create a campaign aiming to break down barriers for men talking about male body image, mental health, sexuality and pressure to ‘be a man’.
The ‘A Brief Discussion’ campaign features ex-pro snowboarder Tim Warwood talking with eight ordinary but inspirational men, delving into their thoughts and feelings about subjects often seen as taboo. The partners are combining their efforts in order to reach as wide an audience as possible; both have an active history of creating social-responsibility campaigns and it’s a genuine effort to make a difference.
