The HEAD sponsored player (pictured) was voted the BBC’s Sports Personality of the Year for a second time after helping Great Britain win the Davis Cup for the first time in 79 years.
The 28-year-old Scot was part of a squad that also included Kyle Edmund, James Ward and his brother, Jamie.
The squad lifted Team of the Year honours in the BBC voting.
Murray, who won all three of his Davis Cup matches in the final against Belgium, also got to the final of the Australian Open in 2015, as well as reaching the semis in Paris and Wimbledon.
He also won four ATP trophies, including his first two on clay in Munich and Madrid.
Of the Davis Cup victory, Murray said: “This has been a five-year journey – we were right down at the bottom level of tennis and now we’re ranked number one in the world.
“I never thought that would be possible.”
