Arena has announced a new three-year sponsorship agreement with European 400m individual medley champion Hannah Miley.
Miley is the third British swimmer – along with Francesca Halsall and Kris Gilchrist – to join Arena’s prestigious Elite Team.
One of the youngest ever national swimming champions, the 21 year old represented Scotland at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, where she made the finals of both the 200m and 400m individual medleys.
She made her first appearance for the British senior team at the 2006 European
Championships in Budapest after winning her first British Swimming Championship title in the 400m individual medley.
In 2008 Miley won silver and bronze medals in the 400m and 200m individual medleys at Manchester’s World Short Course Championships, and made the 400m individual medley finals at the Beijing Olympics.
“We are delighted to welcome Hannah Miley to our Elite Team,” says Alessandro Carpignano, director general of Arena’s international business.
“Hannah is undoubtedly one of the finest talents in the British team. Over the past
two years she has established herself on the international scene with character and grit, steadily improving her technique and establishing herself as one of the world’s best medley swimmers.
“Hannah is welcomed to the Arena family,” says Debbie Poulson, manager of Solo Sports, Arena’s distributor in the UK.
“Arena’s presence and ongoing development in the UK is further underscored with Hannah coming on board and we are confident she will enjoy even higher levels of success in the future.”
Adds Miley: “This is a very exciting time in my career and it is crucial I have the best support in all areas of my swimming.
“Having the backing of Arena for the next few years is very reassuring, knowing I will be swimming in a suit that is not only the most comfortable to wear, but it is at the cutting edge of swim suit technology.
“Winning European gold in an Arena suit was a fantastic way to kick off the relationship.”
