Ahead of the Olympics leading Matilda’s and Arsenal Goalkeeper, Lydia Williams has today launched her own unique range of gloves and training apparel.
In partnership with gloveglu (GG), the world’s leading glove care brand, Lydia has been working with the GG team for over 12 months wearing the GG:LAB gloves throughout her time in the FA Women’s Super League in the UK and has since developed a range of culturally inspired gloves and training apparel.
“We are extremely excited to have announced our first major signing in the women’s game,” commented Paul Sherratt, gloveglu Founder & CEO.
“We have really been looking forward to working with Lydia to create this new and exciting collection for female keepers throughout the world. As we continue to expand our business it was important to find an athlete who has played at the highest level around the globe and who shares our company ethos, and Lydia was the perfect fit. We have created the “LW: Lydia Williams collection as a reflection of her aboriginal heritage working with an indigenous artist and family friend of Lydia.
Lydia’s connection with her community is evident with the collaboration, featuring artwork from artist, Hazel Hansen who lived in the Marribank Mission, alongside Lydia and her family.
“Hazel knew my dad really well and also myself when I was really young. She lives in Katanning which is where I was born. My mum got in touch with her early last year and Hazel was excited to work together with the Glove Glu team for my collab. The artwork in southern Western Australia is very different from what a lot of mainstream art is and I’m so proud to showcase these designs on a national level,” said Williams.
The “LW” Lydia Williams collection will be available for Pre Order from the 13 July 2021 via:
