adidas and Sport Lisboa e Benfica are getting ready to pay tribute to the city of Lisbon, where the Club was born, with the release of the new 2022/23 season shirt.
The home shirt is the first of a set of three whose mission is to demonstrate pride and passion for the Portuguese capital, using the profile of the iconic 25th of April Bridge on the back. The new kit also incorporates a set of stripes – in a shade of red which stands out from the traditional shade of red of the club’s home shirts – which together represent the steel cables of the instantly recognisable suspension bridge.
Continuing adidas’ sustainability policy, the new shirt is part of the PRIMEGREEN line, a range made from a series of high-performance recycled materials and represents a commitment to phase out all virgin polyester by 2024 to help end plastic waste.
The promotional campaign video features various players – including UEFA Youth League winner Henrique Araújo, EURO 2016 champion João Mário and Canadian international Cloe Lacasse – where they proudly model the colours for the new season.
The new jersey will be on sale, starting today, in all official adidas and SL Benfica shops, including online outlets, and can also be found in major sports shops around the country with a recommended retail price of €90.
