Bjorn Daehlie, the most successful cross-country skier in the history of the Winter Olympics, has been awarded the ispo Trophy, a prize that has been given to athletes for their outstanding achievements in their chosen sports since 1971.
Norwegian Daehlie won six World Cup titles between 1990 and 1999 and 29 medals at three Olympic Games and five World Championships. A training accident in 1999 ended Daehlie’s career. Today the nature-loving father of two spends his time promoting sports for young people.
The trophy will be presented to Daehlie during ispo winter 08.
