Outdoor retailer Blacks has opened its biggest ever store and chosen Sheffield, ‘The Outdoor City’, as host city.
Following the successful launch of its London Tottenham Court Road store, just before Christmas, Sheffield’s new 16,000 sq ft outlet is the latest of the retail group’s new concept stores.
The new Blacks’ store, at Sheffield’s The Moor, brings store numbers to 58 (alongside sister group Millets with 98) and created 15 jobs.
Blacks adds strong customer service and detailed knowledge to its shopping experience and works with high quality, well established clothing and equipment brands such as The North Face, Berghaus, Jack Wolfskin, Peter Storm, Columbia, Merrell, Brasher, adidas and EuroHike.
The latest in digital technology will give customers instant access to detailed product information, including display footwear containing intelligent chips that, when placed on a reader pad, will begin an auto play introduction to the brand and individual product information.
Founded in 1863, Blacks has more than 150 years of experience; living and breathing the outdoors. Its new concept stores continue to be rolled out across the UK as part of the investment plans for Blacks Outdoor Division, which also includes Millets, Ultimate Outdoors and Go Outdoors.
