BT Sport Industry Awards 2016 open for entry with new categories

The BT Sport Industry Awards 2016 opened for entries today with new and revised categories covering the latest innovations and trends in marketing, PR, sponsorship, media and more. Now in its fifteenth year, the Awards Ceremony for the annual event, which attracts the major players from the UK and international sport industry, will take place on Thursday 28th April 2016.

The new ‘Campaign of the Year’ category is set to be a hotly-contested title at the BT Sport Industry Awards 2016. The Award will be given to the standout campaign of the year that has risen above all others to claim ultimate sport industry bragging rights.

With all the captivating sport that’s happened in the past year the new ‘Best Entertainment Experience’ category, which celebrates the ultimate hospitality experience or experiential event, will also give the Judges [link to Judges page?] plenty to discuss. Also, to reflect the UK’s position as a hub for the international sport industry, entrants from all across the world will now be able to enter the ‘Best International Marketing Campaign’ category. In recent years, the quality and quantity of entrants in this category has demonstrated London’s position at the centre of international sports marketing and now this revised category will allow the UK industry to compete with their international counterparts.

‘Best Sponsorship of a Team or Individual’ has been expanded to include current, retired, international athletes or high-profile sporting personalities and can also include a ‘team’ of ambassadors. ‘Agency of the Year’ will once again involve a selected group of Judges visiting each of the shortlisted agencies, allowing the Judges to get a feel for the culture of their office, the people within it and what makes their agency different.

‘Governing Body of the Year’ will now be judged apart from the other categories by a specially selected group of experts, with further details to be announced soon.
