Columbia has announced plans to open a 220 square metre store in Chamonix in December. The outlet will be in partnership with Jean-Francois and Francoise Coquoz, who have over 40 years’ experience in the ski resorts business.
The store represents the first time Columbia’s brands – Columbia Sportswear, Mountain Hardwear, Sorel and Montrail – will be represented under one roof. Says Columbia’s Paul Gils: “We are extremely excited about this project in Chamonix. It’s a big first for us to see all brands together. Jean-Francois is able to bring in professionalism combined with a tremendous knowledge of the outdoor industry.”
Columbia is set to further reinforce its presence in Chamonix by hosting The Nissan Outdoor Games by Columbia in February 2008. The competition consists of skiing, snowboarding, paragliding, BASE jumping and climbing.
