Dakine have signed the three top female athletes among the World Surf League to its growing team of surfers.
Three-time World Champion, Carissa Moore, third-ranked Courtney Conlogue, and 2016 US Open Champ, Johanne Defay have all joined the Dakine ohana this summer.
Carissa Moore, born and raised in Hawaii, has been considered part of the Dakine family since her youth. Officially returning to the team this summer, Moore said: “I’m super excited to be a part of the Dakine family. I have always loved what the brand represents, the dependable products and the incredible people behind the company. Thank you for having my back as I look forward to what the future has in store.”
Moore has set the bar in women’s surfing with one of the most amazing rail games in the business. Exuding the pure quality of aloha, Moore’s passion and promotion of the sport is infectious to all around her.
California-based, Courtney Conlogue, learned to surf at age four and was the youngest athlete to be selected to the USA Junior surf team at age 11.
By 14 years old, she’d won a gold medal for the US team in the X Games and just three years later, took first place in the US Open of Surfing on her home break in Huntington Beach. Recognized for her strength and determination, Conlogue has set her goals on winning a world title in surf. With two wins under her belt already this season, Conlogue has a very good chance of fulfilling her dreams before the end of the year.
Johanne Defay is a French-born surfer who learned to surf off the beaches of Reunion Island, where she still resides today. Champion of the 2015 Vans US Open of Surfing and the Fiji Women’s Pro in 2016, Defay shows very little hesitation towards her rise to the top of the rankings.
Representing Dakine in sun protection and surf accessories, Defay said: “I am really happy to be part of Dakine, it is one of those surfing brands I dreamed about when I was a kid! I love and share the values that they stand for; quality work and material, care for the environment, love of the sport and its athletes, and having fun. As an athlete, I really enjoy seeing these values in a brand over constant competition and promotion.”
Dakine is proud to have three super athletes join the surf team, and with the insight of its athlete roster and the staff behind the brand, continue to build the best surf gear in the world.
