Congratulations to all those who took part in the Virgin Money London Marathon. The elite runners showed grit and determination in race record-high temperatures. Mo Farah set a British marathon record, finishing third in two hours,six minutes and 21 seconds. The race was won by Eliud Kipchoge in two hours, four minutes and 17 seconds – 80
seconds off the world record.

But as always the stars of the day were the everyday runners from all over the country.

The interest in running is huge and to that end the first National Running Conference is to be held at the Birmingham NEC in January next year.
