El Salvador and Mitre have announced a new partnership that will see the British sports brand supply the Central America national football team with home and away kits, training and bench wear until August 2010.
Mitre and its Panamanian partner, The Harari Group, have designed the kit that the team, should they qualify, will be wearing at the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa. El Salvador joins Mitre’s current kit supplying portfolio that includes English Football League sides Ipswich Town and Huddersfield Town, as well as domestic teams such as South Africa’s Maroka Swallows, Ionikos FC in Greece, Mito Hollyhocks in Japan and Mechelen FC in Belgium.
Says Gary Hibbert, Mitre’s managing director: “We are delighted to be the kit supplier for the El Salvador national team and this new partnership further demonstrates that, although steeped in British history, Mitre’s appeal is on a global scale. We wish the El Salvador national team all the best in their World Cup campaign and hope to see them representing the Mitre brand at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.”
