EOS 2018 theme and major sponsors announced

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) theme for the European Outdoor Summit (EOS) 2018 will be The Outdoor Industry – A Progressive Business Sector.

Technology in all forms has consistently outpaced the sector’s development during the last two decades and the pace of change is accelerating. TheEOS plans to look at what the future holds from the industry’s perspective, and pinpoint the opportunities for transformation that can enhance differentiation and improve prospects for outdoor companies.

The focus for this year will be Outdoor Digital, as they concentrate on key topics that stimulate debate and discussion. From Ecosystems, partnerships and collaborations; disruption to processes and the need to digitally transform supply chains; embedded and wearable technologies; transparency – how to ensure it, use it and defend it; leaders in a digital world and technology enhanced outdoor experiences to encourage the take-up of outdoor activities from the younger generations.

Supporting the Summit for their sixth consecutive year as Major Sponsors, are sports business platform ISPO and W.L Gore & Associates. Joining them is leading footwear outsole specialist Vibram, who have signed as EOS Major Sponsor for the second year running.

Tobias Gröber, head of ISPO Group, said: “The European Outdoor Summit is a great gathering for the whole outdoor industry. Important stakeholders of the industry are discussing future oriented topics which are relevant for the development of the business. The event creates a great momentum for future growth and we are very proud to be one of the main sponsors since the very beginning of the summit, as outdoor is part of our DNA.”

Matthias Zaggl, global business leader sports footwear for W.L Gore & Associates, said: “We are delighted to sponsor the EOS Summit also in 2018. The EOS is one the most important events as we discuss in the industry about current and future trends. Through our support we want to underline the importance of industry dialogue.”
