Menswear brand Front Up Rugby is bypassing the traditional ways of raising venture capital by giving ordinary people the chance to become part of the brand’s future.
It’s joined forces with Crowdcube, which offers an online means for companies to raise finance through people willing to invest smaller amounts of cash in exchange for rewards and a stake in their business.
Front Up Rugby is encouraging rugby fans to invest anything from £100-£10,000, and is looking to raise £100,000 in order to grow its online presence, as well as develop its wholesale business and expand its product range.
Jon Allen, managing director of Front Up Rugby, says: “With the upsurge in the popularity of rugby, the growth of online shopping and proven traction, Front Up is well placed for rapid growth ahead of the British Lions Tour in 2013 and the 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.”
