The FSPA are delighted to confirm that the long-awaited workshop event for FSPA members, Sport England (Sport Unlimited), its network of County Sports Partners and National Governing Bodies (NGB’s) will take place on Thursday, May 21 at De Vere Venues, Canary Wharf, London.
The purpose of the event is to:
• Bring NGBs/CSPs up to speed with the work of the Federation of Sports & Play Associations (FSPA) and the work of its member organisations.
• Provide networking opportunities to explore the potential commercial links that can be made between NGBs/CSPs and FSPA members to support Sport England’s Strategy 2008-11
• Provide the opportunity to explore partnership working between CSPs/NGBs and FSPA members to support the delivery of Sport England funded programmes, in particular the Sport Unlimited initiative.
Following feedback from the FSPA Summit in July 2008, where FSPA member companies expressed a strong interest in becoming involved in and supporting various government-led sports participation initiatives, the FSPA has worked tirelessly to try and make this opportunity possible for its members. It has only been in recent meetings with Sport England that it became clear that it shares the FSPA’s interest in developing and forging these relationships, and this considerable progress has led to both parties agreeing a Networking Workshop Event as the best possible way to facilitate these links.
This is a great opportunity for FSPA member companies to work with Sport England to help meet the government’s target of more people playing sport. The Department of Health is also helping to fund County Sport Partnerships and by the middle of April all 46 NGBs should have their funding/plans in place for the next four years – a total of £480million.
Don’t miss this opportunity to find out how you can be involved.
