Future looks bright for SunGod after raising £3 million in just 79 minutes

After launching its equity crowdfund on Crowdcube this morning, British performance eyewear brand SunGod has already hurtled past its £1 million goal to achieve a total of £3 million and close the raise in just 79 minutes, at 200% overfunded.

SunGod welcomes 1,365 new investors to their community as part of the 2022 Vision Raise, who each bought a piece of the brand’s future – from just £25.

Following their success to date, SunGod is poised and ready for the next phase of growth, setting out five clear objectives:

● Scale up presence in the UK, and expand into the US market

● Invest in product innovation to create the most high-performance and sustainable eyewear on the market, plus launch an option for prescription sunglasses

● Land bigger and (even) better partnerships to reach new audiences

● Continue to invest in sustainability and launch a new charity arm, the SunGod Foundation

● Attract the best talent in the industry to continue driving excellence

● Open SunGod Basecamp London in 2024, following their flagship store in Verbier

Founder and co-CEO Ali Watkiss said: “We’ve worked hard to build a really strong community of customers, ambassadors and athletes who we know are highly engaged, but seeing these people put their money into our 2022 Vision Raise means so much more. It’s proof that our community genuinely believes in what we’re doing: our mission, our products, and our way of doing business. We can’t wait to put their investment to good use through our 6 point plan – the hard work continues and the next exciting chapter starts now.”
