Gift Your Gear has announced that there will be a collection point at this year’s Outdoor Trade Show (OTS), taking place at EventCity in Manchester, on July 3-5.
Throughout July, Gift Your Gear is asking the outdoor industry to donate their unwanted maps and compasses to help the next generation find their way outdoors.
Sarah Howcroft, Gift Your Gear founder, said: “We thought OTS would be a great opportunity for exhibitors and visitors to donate any usable items they have, which can be passed on to others via the Gift Your Gear area at the show. We’re specifically focusing on collecting maps and compasses as they’ll be easy for people to transport to the show, but we’ll be happy to welcome larger gear donations too.”
Gift Your Gear is an award winning nationwide initiative that supports community organisations, youth groups and charities working with young people in the outdoors. It works closely with like-minded outdoor clothing and equipment brands to provide sustainable solutions for returned, unsellable and excess inventory, to ultimately encourage the next generations of outdoor enthusiasts, especially youngsters, to get outdoors.
Gift Your Gear has provided hundreds of local, grassroots organisations with outdoor clothing and equipment that has enabled thousands of young people to experience the great outdoors, from hill walking and climbing to camping and biking.
