W L Gore & Associates (UK), manufacturer of GORE-TEX fabric, has been named the best company to work for in Scotland for the eighth year in a row.
With a record 912 companies competing this year, Gore was also ranked 13th in the ‘Mid Companies Best Companies To Work For’ list, published by The Sunday Times on March 6.
The list is based on a wide range of factors – from employee satisfaction and well being to company policy on a wide range of benefits.
As well as its overall rankings, Gore also featured in the top five in categories including ‘Least Bored at Work’, ‘Most Stimulating Place to Work’, ‘Best for Personal Growth’, ‘Proud to be Here’ and ‘Love Working for the Company’.
Gore employees, or ‘associates’ as they’re called by the Livingston-based business, were also rated the sixth ‘Least Exhausted’ of all companies of the list.
“Gore’s continued presence high up on the Best Companies list is testament not only to our famous unique leadership structure, but also to the commitment and dedication of our associates who, every day, live and breathe the values that make Gore a great place to work,” says Gore UK associate Bob Doak.
Rodger Pheely, an associate in Dundee, adds: “The innovation that results in our world leading products comes from the great people in our company.
“Our corporate philosophy recognises that it is the associates’ role in developing products and systems that makes such a huge contribution to the company’s success globally.”
