Greaves Sports has pulled off a major coup by becoming the first official Wilson Service Centre in the West of Scotland.
The family-run business is celebrating being the first retailer in Glasgow to install Wilson’s revolutionary new stringing machine, ‘The Baiardo’. The Baiardo was used by the official stringers at the US Open, Australian Open and is favoured by many of the top pros and coaches, with the waiting list for one of the machines growing rapidly.
Julian Le Fevre, manager of the tennis department at Greaves Sports, says: “We’re delighted to be recognised as the first Wilson Service Centre in Glasgow. Tennis is really taking off in Scotland and with Andy Murray continuing his rise to the top we are definitely seeing an upturn. Having this machine means our customers have access to the latest technology as used by the world’s best players.
“We’re finding that more people are taking their tennis more seriously, from the regular club player to the bounce game beginner, customers are keen to raise their game, customising their strings for more power and control, and making sure they have the right grip.”
The Baiardo is named after the Greek mythical horse that had the ability to adjust its size to its riders. Appropriately, Wilson’s Baiardo remembers 13 personal settings for up to six different stringers to help the customisation process.
