Danish cycling and running accessories specialists GripGrab have made a big leap in their product portfolio for 2017 with a dedicated women’s range of gloves, headwear, socks and shoe covers.
Kristian Kroyer, Director of R&D, said “Our R&D team has been in talks with our female GripGrab Local Heroes and other women cyclists to create a range of women designs, that are actually appealing to them and have the capability to match most women’s cycling kits without compromising functionality.”
Instead of the widespread floral designs, the Danes hold true to their simple and classic style, albeit tailored towards the passionate female cyclist.
Many products are available in three colours: grey, green and purple.
Kroyer added: “The feedback we received from our female customers and athletes was that florals, hearts and co are misperceptions.”
Instead, simple colourful designs blend in with existing kit and make it easy to look good without looking exaggerated.
Product specific differences compared to the existing line of accessories are mainly the sizing of the new products, which accommodate the generally slimmer hands, heads and feet of women.
Based on direct feedback from customers, a new size XS (35-38) has been introduced for all women´s specific socks.
The new design range for women allows shops to serve the “shop-by-looks” habit of their female customers.
Highlights in the range are the entry level Women’s Rouleur short finger glove and the tan-through Women’s Solara glove for women who want to avoid the typical tan lines.
A new addition to the full finger gloves is the Women’s ProGel Full Finger, which features the same characteristics as the short finger version, but is aimed for road riding in spring, when temperatures might still be a bit chilly.
The Women’s Shark is the go-to version for mountain bikers and ‘cross riders. For a stylish look on the bike paired with sun protection there is a new women’s specific Cycling Cap, which comes in three colours.
