Informed Sport announced as the first Gold Sponsor of ESSNawards 2023

Informed Sport, the leading testing and certification programme for the global sports nutrition industry, has been announced as the first headline sponsor of the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Awards (ESSNawards) 2023.

Returning for their fifth year, the ESSNawards are the only pan-European competition and ceremony wholly dedicated to the sports and active nutrition industry. Launched in 2019 in response to significant growth in the sector, increased demand from consumers, and expansion of the market from professional athletes only to everyday consumer lifestyle, the ESSNawards bring together brands from around the world – from market leaders to up and coming new players.

The 2023 ESSNawards will take place in London on the 7 December and will be hosted at the iconic Chelsea Football Club Stadium Stamford Bridge. As well as the awards ceremony, the evening will include speeches from some of the most prominent and exciting movers and shakers in the industry.

Informed Sport is a global banned substance certification and testing programme for sports supplements. Athletes and consumers purchasing Informed Sport certified products rest safe in the knowledge that every single batch has been tested for more than 250 substances prohibited in sport.

The rigorous certification process also interrogates the manufacturing of the product, the raw materials and suppliers, and traceability. Informed Sport is one of four brands that make up LGC ASSURE, which is a suite of supply chain assurance services.

The ESSNawards are delivered by Whitehouse Communications, winning issues-led communications agency with decades of experience in public affairs, press and media relations, in co-operation with the European Specialist Sports Nutrition Alliance (ESSNA).

Terence O’Rorke, Business Development Manager EMEA APAC for LGC ASSURE, said: “We are thrilled to be returning as gold sponsor of the ESSNawards this year. These awards set the standard for excellence within our industry, and we are proud to be involved in the honouring of our sector’s brightest and best, many of whom are long-standing Informed Sport customers.”

Luca Bucchini, Chair of ESSNA, added: “It’s fantastic that Informed Sport long-term supporter of the awards, and a key player in the sector have come back onboard for this year’s awards. As we continue to celebrate quality and innovation within the sports nutrition industry, their contributions as an industry leader remains invaluable!”

Chris Whitehouse, Chairman of Whitehouse Communications, said: “We are delighted that Informed Sport will continue to partner with the ESSNawards. Their status in the sector remains unrivalled, and they have been vital in helping us to raise the bar for the awards year on year.”
