Inter Milan FC joins subscription-free streaming platform Recast

Italian football giants FC Internazionale Milano has announced the launch of a new channel on the revolutionary subscription-free streaming platform Recast.

Inter Milan’s Recast Channel will provide fans around the world with flexible and affordable access to exclusive behind–the-scenes content and live game day action.

As one of Europe’s most celebrated clubs, with a global fanbase of millions, the new Recast Channel is part of the Nerazzurri’s ongoing drive to expand and deepen their connection between the club, and fans old and new.

Fans of the 19-time Italian champions can now unlock an unprecedented mix of present day and historical exclusive original content including on-pitch action, highlights and behind the scenes access from the mens, womens, and youth sides at the San Siro. There will also be regular bite-size videos featuring player interviews, ‘hat-trick’ highlights, training ground insight and an original series featuring past and present club legends – including Luis Nazario Ronaldo.

Inter fans can also watch the next generation of Nerazzurri talent develop with regular first-look at match highlights from the U19 sides, and live match streams featuring the U18, U17, and U16 sides.

Inter is the first major football club from outside the UK to launch a Recast Channel as the service grows internationally, with a growing football stable at all levels of the game that includes Manchester City, Queens Park Rangers, Hibernian and Glasgow City.

Alessandro Antonello, CEO Corporate of FC Internazionale Milano, shared his thoughts on the collaboration: “We’re delighted to announce the launch of our channel on Recast, the industry’s leading international platform. This significant step is part of the club’s evolution and innovation in terms of how it presents content and the ways in which our fans can enjoy it, both in Italy and abroad.”

Andy Meikle, Founder and CEO of Recast, said: “Inter has one of the biggest fan bases in football, and it’s a major coup for Recast to be part of the club’s drive to continue to evolve their connection with their fan base. Our platform was created to remove the subscription barrier, utilising microtransactions to give fans flexible and affordable options to consume the content they want, while giving rights holders, such as Inter, full control to effectively monetise and manage all of their digital revenue, not just a small percentage.

“Rights holders around the world are recognising the increasing change in audience behaviour and demand. The subscription model is exhausted – this is a breakthrough period for Recast as rights holders and fans turn to us to provide a future-proofed solution to content streaming.”

Every time Fans watch content on Recast, the majority of revenue generated will go back to Inter, to be invested directly back into the club.

Joining Recast is simple and free. Everything on Recast is priced in Cast Credits, with one Cast Credit valued at 1p and content being priced from just 1 Credit per minute. Fans can buy Credits as well as earn them in-platform by watching ads, sharing content, or inviting friends to join. Recast’s unique subscription-free microtransaction model keeps content accessible and affordable.

Recast, which is currently in beta, has secured £15 million investment to date from some of the biggest names in sport, business and venture capital including founder investor and Executive Chairman Simon Clegg CBE, ex-Pixar EVP/CFO Simon Bax and cricketer Chris Gayle.
