Launched in August 2013, the venture between Matalan and Intersport is to be “phased out”, according to Matalan managing director Jason Hargreaves.
Hargreaves told Drapers magazine: “We are closing the standalone stores and expanding own label sports within Matalan under the brand Souluxe across menswear, womenswear and kidswear.”
Intersport Sporting Pro was headed up by former JJB chief executive Tom Knight.
The retailer’s website has already ceased trading.
It has 15 stores in the UK.
