Berlin’s famous and finest fitness export JOHN REED will open its first UK club in the heart of the city on Monday 20th September. A tale of two cities, the new location will fuse Berlin and London music, fashion, street art and design and fitness to offer an incredible new workout experience – with beats to match. A brand created by German fitness and lifestyle company RSG Group, JOHN REED will be switching up London’s fitness scene with a members only club that welcomes Londoners for an experience that goes far beyond the functional level of a pure fitness studio. The London launch will be the brand’s 40th international location worldwide, with JOHN REED then present in 10 countries, including Germany, Turkey, Netherlands, USA and the UK’s launch as the latest milestone.
Calling fitness enthusiasts and music lovers, JOHN REED will be London’s hottest new hangout spot, designed for those who want to train hard and have fun. The incredible 2000 square metre studio features a large functional group training space, boxing arena, PT area, free weight and equipment, hot yoga studio, sauna and more. Group training classes will include Barre, Hot Pilates, Hot Yoga, Pump, Boxing and HIIT.
More than just a gym, music is the central element in each JOHN REED and spans the genres of electro, hip hop, pop and more. The club will feature an energetic mix of music tracks that will intensify the training experience of members and with regular live DJ sessions from local and international artists, JOHN REED will be the exclusive spot music and fitness fans alike will want to meet. Amplifying the atmosphere, the JOHN REED Radio will also travel to London, hosted by inhouse music experts with different styles to ensure that the music throughout the gym will be in sync to the time of day, the flow of active training at that time, and be effortlessly aligned with the overall mood of JOHN REED’s clientele at that moment. Via the JOHN REED Radio app that features six different music channels, members can listen to their favourite sounds at home and on the go with ease.
An epic environment that turns training into an experience, the studio design of JOHN REED Fitness Music Clubs go far beyond the functional level of a pure fitness studio and are based on a modern interior design with a club atmosphere. Partnering with six talented and well known London and Berlin based artists and placing their work front and center to the studio design, the artists include Pref, Fanakapan, Osch, Mr Cenz, Ron Miller and Dice Ideas. Boasting incredible murals, reflective and futuristic artwork, along with stand out furnishings and special lighting concept, JOHN REED’s unique setting will fascinate and inspire members, ensuring they love their workout space.
Situated across two floors, JOHN REED’s ground floor of its London club will be a dedicated pop up retail space, merging London and Berlin designers to offer exclusive gym wear pieces from resident brands including LAPP and Fabletics available via order only. The space will also feature a DJ booth and transform into a VIP events space for exclusive JOHN REED launch moments and more.
