
Lotto Sport Italia has appointed Star 360 Sdn Bhd as its new licensee for the Malaysian market. The agreement will allow Star 360 to market Lotto’s branded products throughout Malaysia until the end of 2013, with a renewal option for a further five-year term.
Says Luca Tomat, business unit director Asia Pacific of Lotto Sport Italia: “Malaysia is a key strategic market for a soccer specialist brand like Lotto, but also a promising country for our expansion ambitions into sport lifestyle. For this reason we have decided to partner with Star 360, an experienced company able to reach any possible distribution channel serving both the mass and the premium, the performance and the leisure consumer segments. Lotto believes that Star 360’s competence in local market knowledge, combined with Lotto’s Italian design and technology, will make this venture a very successful one in Malaysia.”
As well as the Lotto international collection, the lines offered include products designed specifically for the Malaysian market. They will be distributed in specialist sports chain stores and large stores with dedicated sports departments. Star 360 is also planning on developing a number of mono-brand stores.
