M and M Direct, the online discount clothing retailer, has reported a 39 per cent increase in sales compared to the same period in 2005 for the six weeks to Christmas 2006. The company currently stocks more than 100 fashion, sport and outdoor clothing brands and a collection of sporting equipment.
“This extraordinary growth in the past two months has not been at the expense of margins, in fact gross margins have slightly increased,” says M and M Direct CEO Mike Tomkins. “Our commitment to offering real value and high standards of customer service has played a huge part in the growth of the business.
“The fact that most of our new customers come from referrals is a reflection of the commitment of our employees.”
Overall, M and M’s year-on-year internet sales have shot up by 55 per cent, with year to date growth for the company currently standing at 19 per cent, something Tomkins is confident of improving upon:
“M and M Direct is a company that is in a constant state of evolution. We are determining the change in the retail-to-customer relationship by offering great products, highly competitive prices, excellent sales support and a website that makes the shopping experience easy and enjoyable.”
