Born in the UK in 2003, inov-8 has carved a reputation for delivering off-road running footwear with unrivalled grip as well as award-winning apparel and equipment.

The brand will be the title sponsor of Maverick Race’s Original Series and will also be involved with the new X Series.

Justin Bufton, director of Maverick Race, said: “We’re so excited about teaming up with inov-8 for 2017. Having been massive advocates of their products for many years, we’re really sold on it. We believe that in the world of trail running there is no better brand out there.”

inov-8 will help Maverick Race deliver their Original Series, now known as The Maverick inov-8 Original Series. From Devon to North Yorkshire and everywhere in between, trail runners will be able to take part in 5k, 10k and half-marathon distance races as part of the Original Series. Last year more than 5,500 runners of all abilities toed the ten start lines across the country.

New for 2017 is the Maverick Race X Series, which will feature trail running events of 10k, half-marathon and marathon distance over tougher terrain with increased elevation gain.

Justin added: “With Maverick’s ethos of getting people out to run in some of the UK’s most beautiful spots and inov-8’s philosophy of creating products where the athletes’ interaction with the environment is the single most important factor – it’s the perfect recipe for success and fulfilment.”

Michael Price, inov-8 director of product and marketing, said: “We’re really pleased to be teaming up with Maverick Race for 2017. We strongly believe in investing in the trail running community and supporting trail runners. Since joining inov-8 in September, I’ve fully immersed myself into the trail running community and have been inspired to push my own running boundaries. We want to help more runners in the trail running community do the same in 2017.”
