Merrell appoints Brandnation to handle brand’s UK public relations

The PR specialist will be working to a wide ranging brief that includes trade and consumer media across product, ambassador and sponsorship event activation encompassing both men and women’s categories.

In addition, Brandnation will look to capitalise on media surrounding Merrell’s ambassadors – called ‘The Pack’ – including recent signings Jake Thompsett (fell runner, climber and mountaineer), Faith Shorney (ultra-runner and triathlete) and Sean MacFarlane (off-road long distance triathlete and adventure racer).

Merrell was founded in 1981 and is renowned for quality performance footwear.

It’s owned by Wolverine World Wide Inc and is set to become Wolverine’s first billion dollar global brand.

Brandnation managing director Mary Killingworth says: “We are delighted to be working with such a prestigious and high profile brand such as Merrell.

“Our Sports & Outdoor division will be amplifying the brand’s presence in both core and targeted mainstream media with a heavyweight campaign activation programme.

“We will also be working closely with Merrell’s UK marketing team to maximise exposure around the brand’s extensive ambassador and event programmes.”
