Mizuno is to sponsor the first-ever Osaka Marathon, which takes place in Japan on October 30, 2011.
“We have a special attachment to and deep affection for Osaka, where our company was established,” says Akito Mizuno, president of Mizuno Corporation.
“We are extremely happy to have been approved as a sponsor of the first Osaka Marathon to be held there.
“Mizuno will help this event develop into one of the major marathon events in Japan and become renowned worldwide.”
Mizuno is planning to launch a groundbreaking range of running apparel and shoes associated with the event, as well as providing runners with specialist technical running advice on race day.
The Osaka Marathon is expected to attract 30,000 runners.
