MKK sews up Harlequins kit contract

MKK Sports has signed a deal with Harlequins Rugby League to supply the Super League club’s training and match-day kit for the next two years.

“We are looking forward to being part of the extended Harlequins RL team and doing all we can to support their long-term plans in the Engage Super League,” says MKK owner James Kirtley.

“As a former professional cricketer, it is very exciting for me to be working closely with a top professional rugby league club.

“MKK is already a leading provider of teamwear in cricket and is on course to achieve a similar standing in rugby.”

Harlequins Rugby League chief executive Gus Mackay adds: “It’s great that we have already secured our new kit supplier for next season.

“It will be MKK’s first venture into rugby league, so we’re really pleased to be bringing the brand on board and welcoming them to the Super League family.

“We are confident that they are able to meet all our requirements from design, manufacture through to delivery as we embark on our campaign for the 2012 season.

“MKK are an established kit supplier in the sporting world and I’m delighted that they’re on board with us for the next couple of years.”

Harlequins RL will be the first rugby league club to wear the MKK brand.

The Sussex-based business already works extensively with teams across a wide range of sports, including a number of amateur rugby union clubs and schools teams.
