National Running Show appoints Promote PR

The National Running Show, operated by Raccoon Events, has appointed specialist sports and fitness PR agency Promote to manage its digital marketing and public relations with immediate effect.

The multi-award-winning show, which currently takes place in Birmingham and London, has grown dramatically since it was established in 2018. The January 2020 show saw over 25,000 visitors at the NEC listening to a wide range of expert speakers across the weekend, and browsing the extensive range of exhibitors stands.

The first London show will take place this year on June 13-14 at the Business Design Centre, with the Birmingham event returning to the NEC on January 30-31, 2021. Keynote speakers in London will include Dame Kelly Holmes, Roger Black MBE and Nell McAndrew. The six themes around the show are: Inspiration – Kit – Tech – Nutrition – Advice – Races.

The success of The National Running show has paralleled the increasing popularity of running in the UK with ever growing events in the calendar and the development of hugely successful initiatives such as Park Run, RunTogether, GoodGym, Red January, This Mum Runs and This Girl Can Run.

Mike Seaman, CEO of Raccoon Events, said: “Promote were the standout choice for us as they’re completely immersed in the running sector and have vast experience of working with large events and shows. We’ve already witnessed the team’s passion and creativity, and are excited to start working with them.”

Sue Anstiss MBE, CEO Promote PR, added: “This is a dream client for us – it’s been tough to decide who works on the account as we have so many keen runners in our team!”

The appointment reinforces Promote’s extensive credentials in the running space with a client portfolio that currently includes the London Landmarks Half Marathon, England Athletics, Quest Wales, Tikiboo and Polar.
