Net World Sports shortlisted for prestigious UK business award

NET World Sports is celebrating after being shortlisted for a prestigious UK-wide business award.
The sports equipment retailer, which is based on Wrexham Industrial Estate, has been announced as a finalist in the Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year category of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards 2016.
The online sports retailer, which was founded in 2009 and now enjoys a significant presence not only in the UK but across North America, continental Europe, and Australasia, impressed judges with its remarkable year-on-year growth, its rapid staff expansion, and its use of innovation in product development, sourcing, logistics, and marketing.

Alex Loven, Managing Director of Net World Sports, said: “Being named as a finalist for such a prestigious national prize is such a fantastic testament to the dedication of our growing team and I couldn’t be more proud of each and every one of them.”

A team from Net World Sports will now head to London in September to make their final pitch to a panel of prominent industry leaders, with the overall award winners set to be revealed at a black tie gala ceremony on November 15 at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
The award accolade marks the continuing success of the fast-growing firm, which relocated to a 50,000 square foot warehouse and office complex last year due to ongoing expansion.

Loven added: “We’ve really been pushing the boundaries of what we offer our customers, whether that’s through stocking the very best products, always offering them at the best possible prices, and ensuring they receive the very best experience with us to round it all off.

“We can’t wait to get down to London and make our case to the judges and fingers crossed we’ll be bringing the trophy back home with us in November.”

This year alone, the Net World Sports team has almost doubled to more than 60 staff with recruitment for additional roles currently ongoing.
