New Balance launches partnership with Virgin Money London Marathon

New Balance, the official clothing and footwear partner of the Virgin Money London Marathon, launched the partnership at a star studded launch party at Village Underground, Shoreditch.

The long-term agreement includes other events organised by London Marathon Events Ltd, including the 2018 Vitality Westminster Mile, the Vitality London 10,000, the Standard Chartered Great City Race and The Big Half, the new half marathon in London.

The relationship between New Balance and the London Marathon dates back to the early 80’s, when the race was first founded.

Tom Carleo, vice-president of running at New Balance, said: “We are excited to officially launch our long-term sponsorhip with London Marathon Events. The launch party was an opportunity for us to share the rich heritage story of our brand and celebrate the iconic race which is the Virgin Money London Marathon. We can’t wait to see runners take to the streets of London on race day.”

New Balance’s launch party saw acclaimed singer and songwriter Raye, best known for her chart topping tracks ‘You Don’t Know Me’ and ‘By Your Side’ perform for guests in attendance.

The launch party also saw New Balance ambassadors Callum Hawkins and Shona Vertue in attendance, with Radio 1 DJ and former 2017 London Marathon runner, Adele Roberts, taking time out after spinning the decks to speak to guests and get the low down on the night.

Our company values are perfectly aligned and both organisations work to give back to the communities in which we operate.”

Guests were also treated to an exclusive look at the new performance products from New Balance for spring/summer 2018, including a limited edition range of London Marathon performance running shoes, a Made in UK, Classic 1500 London Edition and apparel.

The Official Merchandise includes a NB Heat Jacket, N transit 1/4 Zip, Impact Tight, Impact Short and NB Ice 2E tshirts. A Souvenir Apparel & Lifestyle Range inspired by the London city scape will also launch in March 2018, which includes the iconic Marathon Jacket.

With the results of the official ballot now announced, New Balance is providing runners who missed out on a ballot place with a second chance to secure a place in the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon, with the launch of a prize draw providing an additional 30 places for the London Marathon 2018.
