NRG Gym, the 24/7 gym chain, is continuing to grow its presence across the UK with a further three openings planned over the next 12 months.
It comes after NRG opened its latest gym in Newcastle last month with a 35,000+ sq ft gym floor. The space provides members with a dedicated boxing zone, female only training zone, spin studio, Olympic lifting platforms, as well as male and female saunas. Meanwhile, the functional training area has been kitted out with a TRX Studio Line featuring built-in anchoring, including TRX® Suspension Trainers.
The Newcastle site is one of the biggest gyms in the city, and comes 11 years after NRG opened the doors to its first gym in Gravesend. Founded by Shafiq Ahmed, a business leader with 20 years’ experience in leisure, finance and retail, NRG Gyms offer a quality member experience within a highly competitive pricing model, with a major emphasis on building strong communities, known as ‘NRG Tribes’. It does this by uniting members who have a shared passion for their health and well-being, providing a space where they want to train and feel part of something.
Fast forward to today and NRG now operates seven gyms nationwide, with further sites in Manchester, Sheffield, Walsall, Lewisham and Watford.
Shafiq Ahmed, Founder, CEO and Chairman of NRG Gym, commented: “At NRG Gym, our members are at the heart of everything we do. We work hard every day, to create a positive, welcoming atmosphere within our gyms that our members feel happy and safe in; somewhere that you want to visit and train in, and feel proud to be a part of.
“With changing member demands, our ability to evolve and deliver a quality experience is one of the things I’m most proud of. We will continue to bring NRG to more communities across the UK, whilst growing our existing gyms to create unique, game-changing fitness experiences for every member of our Tribe.”
