One Running Movement successful in Pledge Fund bid with Social Chain

The organisers of One Running Movement, a social change and do good by working together company, have announced a successful Pledge Fund bid with the first integrated and fast moving social media company Social Chain.

Manchester-based Social Chain was formed in 2014 and is now an industry-leading company that uses its media, marketing and data capabilities to build and scale owned brands and social events. With 80 million followers, 5 global offices, over 500 team members and €170 million in consolidated revenues, it is the most engaged social publisher in the world.

The Social Chain Group Pledge Fund will see Social Chain donate $1 million of their global resources to achieve 17 global goals for a better world by 2030. Focusing on four key areas of climate change, poverty, inequality and health and wellbeing, the pledge ties in perfectly with One Running Movement’s mission to make a difference through activity, sport and collaboration #MoveForLife.

One Running Movement is a collaborative evolution for movement and change, encouraging children (from the age of 4), families and adults of all abilities and backgrounds to become more active. Through inclusive challenges such as Schools Half Marathon and Schools Marathon – which will see over 15,000 primary school pupils achieve their very own cumulative half marathon or marathon in 25 plus locations across the UK in 2020 – One Running Movement is inspiring families and entire communities to experience the joy of regular physical activity and the life-changing benefits that this can bring. Enhanced physical and emotional wellbeing is a key benefit and this complements perfectly Social Chain’s pledge to promote good health and wellbeing with aligned goals and missions.

The support of Social Chain is a positive and very exciting step for One Running Movement, who will have full access to Social Chain’s resources in this global longevity partnership. Working closely together will further enhance One Running Movement’s visibility and reach to make a potentially life changing difference to thousands of lives.

Rebecca Richardson, One Running Movement Director, said: “We are thrilled to collaborate with the brilliant teams at Social Chain on a longevity partnership to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of current and future generations. It is incredibly exciting to have their support to help spread the message about what we are doing and why it is so important. With their industry-leading marketing capabilities and exceptional social insights, and a commitment to promote global health and wellbeing through its Pledge Fund, Social Chain is an idea alliance and perfect match for us both. We are so excited to have been successful in the Pledge Fund which allows us all to work together to make a difference and see what the future holds for everyone due to this social change partnership and doing good commitment.”

Katy Leeson, MD of Social Chain UK, added: “We are delighted to support One Running Movement through the Social Chain Group Pledge Fund as their mission absolutely aligns with our mission to promote good health and wellbeing globally, making a difference. One Running Movement is making a huge difference to youngsters across the country and it is a privilege to be able to play a part in spreading the word and helping to encourage more people to embrace regular physical activity. We have the power to make real change through collaborations like this and we are confident that together we can build a better future for everyone and change the world we know today.”
