Activinstinct, the fast growing online sports retailer, ended the year on a high as sales surged 31 per cent to £8.1 million, significantly outstripping the wider online industry’s rate of expansion.
“We are naturally delighted with the company’s powerful trading performance this year,” says Mike Thornhill, Activinstinct’s CEO.
“Despite an uncertain economy and consumer nervousness about the coalition’s looming austerity measures, we have continued our strong growth in 2010/2011 with sales up 26 per cent in December over the same period in 2009.
“Even in a market dominated by large, aggressive and well-established sports discount e-tailers we remain highly positive about the remainder of 2011 with planned new business initiatives already in the pipeline, which I believe will herald further growth in both sales and profits.”
Activinstinct was recently named in The Sunday Times Tech Track 100, a list of the 100 fastest growing technology companies in Britain.
