Hench Nutrition is aiming to raise £300,000 via Crowdcube.
The Norwich-based business has over 30,000 customers and sells around 500 products, including protein shakes, slimming aids and high protein snacks.
The company also manufactures its own product range in-house, using ingredients from audited suppliers at its 5,000 sq ft pharmaceutical grade production facility.
John Horwell, Hench founder and managing director, says: “The decision to crowdfund is to facilitate the growth of the company in line with the growth of the sports nutrition market.
“We have monitored and analysed the sector and believe, based on our strong growth projections and experience to date, Hench offers an exciting investment opportunity for anyone who would like to add a sports nutrition brand to their portfolio or invest for the first time in products they use and will continue to use in the future.
“With high net profit margins and the company already paying dividends, we have proven our scalability.”
Horwell launched Hench in 2011 from his parent’s spare bedroom.
He adds: “Since then, thanks to some hard work and innovative product ideas, we have achieved sales to date of over £2 million.
“We have developed a robust business model and now our plans are to continue to grow the business with more staff, new and exciting products and a wider marketing strategy.”
The UK sports nutrition market is currently worth £300 million in the UK, with global projections taking the value to $37 billion worldwide by 2019.
