Plan for your best year of running at the National Running Show Birmingham

The time has come for the flagship National Running Show Birmingham, in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, to welcome over 20,000 runners to the NEC, Birmingham for a weekend of kit, tech, community, event planning and unparalleled inspiration from some of the world’s top runners including Lord Seb Coe, Jonnie Peacock MBE, Kadeena Cox, Scott Jurek, Carla Molinaro and Derek Redmond.

Spanning the weekend of 22-23rd January and operating 9-5pm, the multi-award-winning National Running Show Birmingham, in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, will aim to set visitors up for a year of community, health, mental and physical fitness and motivation to tackle whatever their New Year’s resolutions may hold. With over 250 brands including Decathlon, Salomon, Hoka One One, On Running, Peloton and Runderwear on site, visitors will be able to discuss, try and buy all the latest gear from the latest running shoes to hydration vests, running apparel to nutrition and hydration support. Official Retail Partner for the show is Up & Running, who will play host to a plethora of high-profile running brands showcasing the very best running gear on the market including Saucony, New Balance, Ronhill, Camelbak, Oofos, adidas and Craft Sportswear.

Famed for its interactive features the 2022 event will not disappoint with an impressive line-up of features including the first ever Travel Centre brought to you by Sports Tours International, Steve Cram’s Training Camp, Gait Analysis from Chiltern Physiotherapy, the hugely popular Run Clinic from The Movement and Running School, the Saucony Running Track, the Nutrition Zone from INDE-Fit, the Strength Zone from Chiltern Physiotherapy and the Recovery Zone from Pulseroll. Bring your calendars and plan out your running year at The Events Village powered by RaceNation, visit The Bra Bar from Runderwear to be fitted for and try the right bra for your needs and visit the team at NoblePro in the Treadmill Training area.

After a few hours of retail therapy and absorbing the inspiration and advice on the stages, visitors can take a load off their feet in The Chillout Zone from Crystal Ski Holidays then restore their energy and catch up with friends in The Run Café sponsored by Runderwear.

The 2022 event is the fourth edition of the National Running Show Birmingham, in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity, and will boast a 30% larger floor space and a broader range of brands in attendance. With three theatres including the Inspiration Stage, Running Skills Theatre and Ultra Zone, visitors will hear from and be inspired by globally recognised runners and industry leading professionals, not only to inspire their own health and wellbeing aspirations but also to equip the running community with crucial knowledge on how to run safely and effectively to avoid injury and keep the country moving in 2022.

January is a pivotal month in the running calendar with Strava’s 2021 Year in Sport research revealing that ‘athletes who set a goal for the New Year were two hours more active in January than those who didn’t’. The National Running Show provides the perfect opportunity for everyone from those who want to start running to those tackling ultra-endurance events, to properly plan and prepare for a fantastic year of physical and mental health.
