The Dutch cycling clothing brand AGU is introducing a unique Primož Roglič “Signature Cycling Kit” in collaboration with world class cyclist Primož Roglič of Team Jumbo-Visma. The set consists of cycling shirt and bibshort with a design inspired by the life and personal values of Primož Roglič.
AGU approached the likeable Slovenian with the idea of making a personalized kit to which the rider immediately responded enthusiastically. It had to be really personal and unique, says Roglič: “We wanted to do something different, something cool, something that stands out. With many elements that really express who I am.”
Bjorn Jeurissen, CEO of AGU: ‘We couldn’t have imagined a better challenge at AGU; to create a personal “signature” cycling kit for the number one cyclist on the UCI ranking. What could be better than that?’
What followed was an intensive process in which the AGU designers consulted extensively with Roglič about which elements from his life he would like to see reflected in the shirt. His personal logo is visible, for example, as well as a ski jumper, a reference to his top sports life before cycling. But also the lion, which for Roglič symbolizes fighting for what you want to achieve, and a heart “If you do everything you do from your heart, then it’s good.” Finally, the gold color in the shirt refers to the Velo D’Or that Roglič won in 2020.
Bjorn Jeurissen, CEO of AGU: ‘Primož was very involved, not only with a clear idea of what he wanted to see, but he also responded very quickly to the design proposals we made. At every step he shared his thoughts and gave his input. It quickly became clear what the kit should look like. And it really has become Primož. The result is a striking set (jersey and bibshort), which tells the story of Primož in various ways, paying attention to important events in his life, the values he promotes and the Slovenian culture he represents. And that produced in the top quality you can expect from AGU.”
In the video portrait that AGU made of Primož Roglič and that went live today, the top rider wears the kit and talks about it himself. With a wink: “The fit is very nice. Off-season it can be a little tight, but when you get back in shape it fits even better.
