Rapid Retail, a supplier of portable retail units and kiosks to sports stadia, entertainment venues and retail brands, is taking the high street on the road for adidas.
The company has provided the brand with three kiosks designed to look and feel exactly like adidas’s high street stores. These units will travel to sporting events across the UK in the coming year to support the brand’s wholesale clients, increase brand awareness and create new retail opportunities.
The units were unveiled last weekend at the Silverstone Flora Marathon, where over 8,000 runners kept the tills busy. adidas lease the units from Rapid Retail, which manages all transport and logistics for an initial 12-month period, visiting events like the London and Reading Marathons and Eastbourne Tennis Championships.
“There are considerable advantages to big brands taking their stores to the customer,” says Nick Daffern, managing director of Rapid Retail. “Portable units are a flexible and low-cost way of enhancing your brand and increasing your retail footprint. How many big brands use trucks and grubby marquees to sell merchandise and sample products at events and what is this saying about your brand? Our units look like high street stores and can be transported anywhere quickly and easily.”
