Uhlsport has released a statement following the death of Robert Enke, the German goalkeeper whom the company sponsored:
‘We have got to know Robert as a genuine, sympathetic and profound person. Having him as a partner has made us proud, as he was always dedicated and sincere, above and beyond sports.
‘Our company is mourning an outstanding goalkeeper, and an extraordinary person. We would like to express our condolences; our thoughts are with his wife Teresa, the other members of his family, his friends and teammates and his manager and friend, Jörg Neblung.’
