The Royal Parks Half Marathon is proud to announce its partnership with Virgin Active, naming the global health and wellness brand as the Official Training Partner for this year’s race.
Virgin Active, which has 238 health clubs across six different territories, will be present on race day (Sunday 12th October) with a dedicated wellness and recovery zone, offering all participants access to support both before and after the race.
Virgin Active is committed to supporting Royal Parks Half Marathon runners with expert guidance and world-class facilities. Participants can access free training, as well as nutrition webinars and workshops to optimise their preparation. Ahead of race day, they can also enjoy a free guest pass to experience the club and meet the team. Any new membership will include two complimentary PT intro sessions (worth £60) to help build or refine their training plan. Plus, from Saturday 4th October to Saturday 11th October, runners can take advantage of a free ‘Royal Parks Half Marathon Open Week’ with full access to training and recovery facilities in the crucial final days before the race.
The Royal Parks Half Marathon, which achieved a record number of ballot entrants this year, is considered one of the UK’s most scenic half marathons. Around 16,000 runners will be guided through four of London’s stunning Royal Parks: Hyde Park, The Green Park, St. James’s Park and Kensington Gardens.
Liz Tack, Head of Royal Parks Half Marathon, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Virgin Active as our Official Training Partner for this year’s Royal Parks Half Marathon. We know how important training and recovery is to all our runners and so we’re really happy to have the support of an industry-leading brand that will make a real difference in ensuring our runners feel prepared to take on the race.”
Andy Tomkins, Group Chief Marketing Officer of Virgin Active, added: “At Virgin Active, we’re more than just a gym—we’re a community dedicated to supporting every aspect of wellbeing, from fitness and nutrition to recovery and mental health, all essential for endurance events. The Royal Parks Half Marathon is an iconic event, and we’re thrilled to support thousands of runners both in their training and on race day. We can’t wait to play a part in making their experience even better.”
