Rugby league star to front Shock Doctor campaign

Sam Tomkins, England’s all-time leading try scorer, has signed a two-year contract to be the face of Shock Doctor.

24-year-old Tompkins, the current Man of Steel – awarded to the best player each season – and the face of this autumn’s Rugby League World Cup, has been signed by Hy-Pro, the mouthguard company’s sole distributor in the UK, as brand ambassador for the range.

“We’re delighted to welcome Sam,” Atul Shah, CEO of Hy-Pro, says.

“He is a fantastic fit for our range, as he is the face of rugby league, and with the Rugby League World Cup this year we feel the timing is right.

“He is also considered hot property by rugby union clubs so this, coupled with recent investment by Nigel Wray, the chairman of Saracen’s RFC, further substantiates our position within this dynamic and competitive market.”

Tomkins adds: “I’ve always known Shock Doctor as the ‘go to’ brand for sports protection, so I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with them and excited about spreading the word to athletes competing in all contact sports.”
