Salomon opens two stores in the heart of London

The French outdoor brand opens two new locations in Covent Garden and Soho, its first brand store and Sportstyle boutique in the United Kingdom

Salomon, the modern mountain sports lifestyle brand, has announced the opening of two new stores in the heart of London. Located in the biggest shopping destinations of the English capital, the Covent Garden brand store opened on October 17th, and the Soho Sportstyle boutique will open November 14th.

The Covent Garden brand store, located at 125 Long Acre, St Martin’s Courtyard, London WC2E 9AA, is the first Salomon brand store in the United-Kingdom. This central London location is a historically major shopping destination in London, and a go-to for anyone looking for outdoor gear. The 235 square meters store is designed to allow visitors the opportunity to experience the full scope of what Salomon has to offer—from premium footwear, apparel and gear for running and hiking to skis and winter apparel. Sneaker fans can find a full wall of Salomon’s increasingly in-demand Sportstyle footwear. The store will host an opening event on November 1st, inviting influencers, Salomon ambassadors and consumers to discover the world of modern mountain sport with a community run organized with Unsanctioned Athletics, an in-store DJ set and hourly raffles.

“We are delighted to announce the first Salomon brand store and first Sportstyle boutique in the United Kingdom! These two openings in London, a city that is known for its connection to both the outdoor and the fashion world, are another step in Salomon’s retail expansion, following recent openings on the Champs-Elysées and in Le Marais in Paris, and in the SoHo district in New York,” said Pascal Clausse, SVP Global Retail for Salomon. “As a 77-year-old mountain sports brand that was born in a small workshop here in Annecy in the French Alps, these new stores in London are a wonderful opportunity to share our passion for the mountain sports lifestyle with our growing community in the capital’s most recognized shopping district.”

The store features a space for 2D foot scanning and an oven for ski boot customization. All store employees are equipped with smartphones, allowing customers to quickly pay thanks to the Tap2Pay system, reducing waiting times. Any product that cannot be found in store is available in an “endless aisle” online, where items can be ordered from the store and shipped directly to locations across England.

Opening hours for Salomon’s new Covent Garden brand store are Monday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m., and on Sundays from 12 a.m. – 6 p.m.

“Salomon’s selection of The Yards, Covent Garden, for its debut UK flagship, cements the destination’s reputation as the first-choice location for first-class brands,” said Jamie Thipthorpe, Asset Management Director at CBRE on behalf of Longmartin Properties Ltd. “In line with The Yards’ ethos, Salomon focuses on transforming and enhancing its customer’s experiences and we are excited to bring this to life in its first UK brick and mortar store. Its debut will also complement the thriving community of leading sporting and athleisure retailers found in the destination. We have no doubt that this innovative and dynamic brand will thrive in our community and are delighted to have opened the doors to our visitors.”

SALOMON OPENS FIRST SPORTSTYLE BRAND STORE IN SOHO

In addition to the Covent Garden location, Salomon is opening its first Sportstyle boutique in the Soho neighborhood of London, which will open on November 14th. Located at 18 Broadwick Street, London W1F 8HS, this new 85 square meters boutique is at the heart of London’s leading fashion shopping destination alongside premium fashion brands and other global sports retailers. Salomon’s Soho location features its most extensive range of Sportstyle footwear, including the latest collaborations with noted designers and fashion labels, as well as shoes from the ADVANCED label and the best Sneakers, including the highly sought after XT-6 model.

All store employees will be equipped with smartphones, allowing customers to quickly pay thanks to the Tap2Pay system, reducing pain points linked to payment. Any product that cannot be found in store is available in an “endless aisle” online, where items can be ordered from the store and shipped directly to locations across England.
