Sky Sports to launch dedicated darts channel for world championships

Sky Sports Darts will launch on December 18, offering viewers over 370 hours of programming, including live coverage of the William Hill World Darts Championship – which also means 370 hours of coverage for the Unicorn Eclipse HD board.

Sky Sports 3 will become Sky Sports Darts at 6am on December 18 and be the home of darts until January 5.

The channel will offer 18 days of non-stop tungsten television, as the 72 biggest names in darts battle for the Sid Waddell Trophy in front of sell-out crowds at Alexandra Palace.

Unicorn Darts’ managing director Edward Lowy says: “This is good news for darts and good news for Unicorn.

“As the PDC’s board of choice, the Unicorn Eclipse HD will be at the very heart of the action with every dart, every 180, every double top and every nine-darter being viewed on this board.”

As well as the William Hill World Darts Championship, Sky Sports Darts will show World Darts Years, which brings back your best memories from 1994 to the present day.

Sky Sports Darts can be accessed across TV, online and via mobile and tablet devices with Sky Go.

Non-subscribers can either enjoy seven days’ access to the Sky Sports Darts channel and Sky Sports’ other six channels contract free on TV and a range of devices with NOW TV.
