Sports Marketing Surveys Inc publishes international sporting participation study

The report, which has taken two years to research, looks at 27 sports in 21 countries on six continents, including the UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Russia and South Africa.

John Bushell, managing director of Sports Marketing Surveys Inc, says: “This research gives brands invaluable data and detailed insight into one of the key questions of ‘who is doing my sport?’ that’s critical to demand forecasting, planning and identification of potential areas for growth across many sports.

“Comparative findings on this scale have not been available in this detail on such an international scale.”

The survey of 63,000 households includes information on age, gender and socio-economic group.
