Target Darts are the new exclusive sponsors of the German Superleague 2017.
The Superleague competition, organised by Langenbahn von Moltke GmbH, has been running since 2013.
It provides the opportunity to compete at the highest national level on a regular basis and is for ambitious and driven players who dream of a career as a professional darts player.
Werner von Moltke, said: “Target’s investment will help drive the game forward.
“We appreciate their innovative and modern approach, which fits perfectly with the Superleague. This is where Germany’s best young talent are preparing for the next step – to become a professional darts player.”
Target’s support of the Superleague will run throughout 2017 and provide Pro Tour dartboards and revolutionary Vision 360 lighting systems for the qualifying events and match weekends.
Garry Plummer, managing director of Target Darts said: “Darts is on fire in Germany and Target are thrilled to be a part of the Superleague for 2017.
“We are committed to supporting the search for the next German superstar in darts.”
The unique aspect of the Superleague is that players battle for a starting place in the preliminary round of the World Darts Championships.
After qualifiers in January the competition runs through to November. In December the winner faces some of the biggest names in darts on the international stage at Alexandra Palace, London.
In recent years winners of the Superleague, Sascha Stein (2015) and Réne Eidams (2016), made it through to the last 32 and last 64 respectively.
