The GORE-TEX Brand has announced the next step in its commitment to keeping its outerwear in action for longer.
This new online portal – currently in its pilot phase, and only available in the UK – is an exploratory step in the GORE-TEX Brand’s sustainability journey. Having added United Repair Centre to its roster of authorised repair centres in 2024, together they’re giving customers direct access to high-quality repairs, and helping to keep GORE-TEX Gear in use for longer. Here’s everything you need to know:

1. GORE-TEX Repair Service is built on a simple principle: the most sustainable piece of clothing is the one you already own. By keeping GORE-TEX Garments adventure-ready for longer, the brand is helping to reduce the footprint of each item of clothing and limit material waste in the fashion and outdoor industries.

2. From zippers to Velcro strips, trims to tears, GORE-TEX Repair Service has a professional repair solution for clothing, gloves, and accessories. By using an authorised GORE-TEX Repair Centre, the product also retains the GORE-TEX Products GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY promise. Future development of the GORE-TEX Repair Service will see more authorised repair centres added to the platform in due course.

3. The four-step repair process is simple. First, the customer is asked to provide more info about the product and the repair request, and will then receive a cost estimate based on these details. Next, the repair is booked and the customer sends in their GORE-TEX Gear. Once received, the product undergoes an evaluation and necessary repairs are completed within five days. Finally, the customer will receive an email notification when the product is ready to be returned, and the GORE-TEX Garment’s repair is complete.

4. The service is led by the G-T Brand and powered by United Repair Centre (URC) – an organisation that supports brands in fostering a circular economy.
