Starting Saturday 4th August, DJ, equipped with three pairs of Vibram FiveFingers, set out with his team of fifteen for the 1000 mile run from Lands End to John O’Groats to raise awareness and £10,000 for the charity Wiltshire MIND.
They ran in a relay format, 24 hours a day, exhausted with lack of sleep, battered by British weather, facing challenges such as the Shap in the Lake District, which DJ has said was one of the highlights, although insanely hard, it was also incredibly rewarding, along with DJ’s other favourite moment, running alongside Loch Ness in the dead of night.
After each team member ran 21km or more each day, the team beat both goals, arriving at John O’Groats a whole day earlier than expected, finishing on Friday 3rd August at 6:15am, as well as raising over £15,000 for their Charity.
DJ has completed 100km runs, double marathons, marathons, trail adventures, OCR and training runs, all in Vibram FiveFingers, and says this was an adventure of a lifetime that the team will never forget.
