This November 23, The North Face dedicates Black Friday to helping transform young lives in the UK through outdoor exploration.
For every item purchased at its store or online, the brand will donate £1 to The Outward Bound Trust, a charity that helps young people realise their potential through education and adventure.
Following The North Face’s Move Mountains Campaign – which enabled over 1,600 young women to experience the outdoors – this collaboration is the second time the brand and The Outward Bound Trust have joined forces, this time to take young people based in London and Manchester on summer adventures into the UK outdoors.
Nick Barrett, Chief Executive at Outward Bound Trust, said: “Since the beginning of our partnership, it’s been very clear that we share the same, clear mission as The North Face: to give as many young people opportunities to experience the outdoors and in turn, the incredible physical and mental benefits that it reaps. To have a brand as respected as The North Face use a huge commercial moment to help boost our shared mission is invaluable, and will change young lives.”
Amanda Calder-Mclaren, Communications Director, The North Face EMEA added: “From the Lake District and the Scottish Highlands, to the beaches of Dorset and the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales; the UK has some of the most incredible outdoor playgrounds in the world. However, for many young people, accessing these kinds of awe-inspiring places can seem to be hard, expensive, and way out of their comfort zone. As the world’s biggest outdoor brand, we feel it is our duty to help change this, and it’s by working with amazing people like The Outward Bound Trust that we can really make a difference.”
In addition to this partnership, The North Face will continue its outdoor gear donation programme this Winter season. Unwanted outdoor clothing can be donated at participating destinations in return for a £15 voucher off when the customer spends over £100, with the old gear collected, donated to organisations encouraging outdoor participation.
